Alexander A.M. Perez – born 12th of April, 1962 in Mallersdorf, Bavaria. Studied physics/math at the University of Denver, ran the Cosmic Ray lab in McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Wanted to do something useful for society, and switched to electrical engineering with specialty electromagnetic field theory at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Enjoys thinking about space waves which are the foundation of everything cool – smartphones, WiFi, looking back in time thousands, millions and billions of years, and many other awesome uses. Earns his living as an electrical engineer helping other electrical engineers design products using space waves and related vibrations.
Sergio Esteban Figueroa Perez – born 8th of January, 1971 in Santiago de Chile. He truly relished his time in elementary and high school, actively participating in the Chilean Scouts from 7 years of age to about 23. Studied computer science at the University of Andrés Bello motivated by his early experience with computers, programming in BASIC when he was only 10 years old. Hired on as System Manager for a small company to rearchitect point-of-sale systems and the associated database on the servers. Later joined Comicrom (now Tata) to develop check scanning and reading systems for the Bank of Chile, using Top Image Systems framework. Moved to Compuware as International Consultant of Quality Assurance testing other people’s software. Through one of those random accidents of life, was asked to help TrazaChile with a database problem in Oracle some Saturday in 2003 (for free), which connected him to the world of product traceability. They asked him to join them trace things like the food a salmon ate, and where and when the salmon ate it, and other interesting things about fish and other products. Through a Spanish-Chilean agreement, brought the traceability software to Spain where it didn’t take fruit because the time was not ripe.
